Orff-Schulwerk Level II

Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Continued skill development as described above; addition of alto recorder, arranging and composition using major and minor scales and more advanced ostinato structures, exploration of diatonic modes, mixed meters, bordun and chord accompaniments, with classroom applications.  Group compositions with harmony structured accompaniments.

 Prerequisite:  Successful completion of Level I at any AOSA approved course.

Required recorder text:  Sweet Pipes for Alto Recorder, Bk I

Movement:  Levels I, II and III will focus on basic skills and their applications to the classroom, simple dance forms, and specific folk dances-introduced in careful sequential process-building to simple choreography and improvisation.  (Wear comfortable clothing.)

Recorder:  Level I (soprano), Level II (alto) and Level III (advanced ensemble.)  At all levels, recorder instruction explores classroom application, techniques, improvisation and skill development.
